We had Isaac's birthday party a couple weeks ago-his birthday was
actually yesterday, but we tried to work around grandparents' schedules.
Jake did mostly video so I'll need to get pictures from someone else.
He didn't really have any theme this year-a dinosaur cookie cake, a
pirate treasure chest pinata filled with candy and parachute army men,
and sports-themed invites. He had a great time and that's all that
matters. We celebrated a little yesterday as well with a quick trip to a
yard sale-just me and him. I was hoping to get him some clothes; turns
out the craigslist ad was a little misleading. I pretty much never buy
toys at yard sales (we more than enough already!), but since it was his
birthday I gave in and we spent less than $2 on a big Tonka truck and
car, a soccer ball, and a football. Happy Birthday, kid! Then we met
some friends at the park for some playtime and a picnic lunch. We said
we'd go out for dinner and he suggested McDonalds. No, thank you! We
opted for Incredible Pizza Company instead. Jake bought him another
gift. A rocket. Pretty sure it was more for Jake than Isaac. Oh
well-they can relive Jake's childhood with this little gift. To end the
day, we stopped at Homemakers Furniture per Isaac's request. Why? Free
cookies and lemonade and they have the car strollers like at the mall,
but you don't have pay a dime to use them. I actually wanted to look at
stuff, but the kids' attention span didn't last long, as expected. He
said he had a good birthday and getting the rocket was the best part. Go
figure!
Last week, Isaac graduated from preschool. He
is officially a kindergarten boy! He's so excited to go and I know
he'll do great. I didn't feel sad about him being done with preschool,
and at least right it doesn't make me feel sad to think of him going to
kindergarten.
Jake had another fundraiser earlier this week-I decided to bring the kids to this one. They did pretty well; we took a couple breaks and ran around outside next the restaurant it was held at. For some reason they didn't want to sit still and take pictures with me. These are my best efforts...
